About the SCC

AGC of America represents the interests of all contractors in the construction industry including approximately 12,000 specialty contractor member firms. The Specialty Contractors Council (SCC) provides AGC specialty contractor members a voice in the Association.

In March 1997, the AGC Board of Directors approved the formation of the SCC. The Council was created to better serve the needs of the Association's growing ranks of specialty contractor members. The SCC leadership team serves on AGC's Board of Directors and its chair serves on the AGC Executive Board - all strengthening the voice that specialty contractors have in AGC.

Participation in AGC begins with committees which specialty contractors serve and help direct the association's policy. Participating in committees provides for full involvement in AGC activities. The SCC operates similar to a Committee, traditionally meeting twice annually in conjunction with the AGC's National Convention and Midyear meeting.
