Equipment Theft Recovery Awards

The AGC/IAATI Heavy Equipment Award was created as a joint effort by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), and the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI) to recognize an officer, or group of officers who have made a significant investigation and recovery of stolen construction equipment. Since 1985, AGC has sponsored this award, presented annually at the IAATI Convention. This award includes a plaque and AGC makes a $1500.00 contribution to the charity of the winner?s choice.

Your chapter may know of a law enforcement investigation that could qualify for this award. What is required is a brief narrative type report, listing the amount of equipment recovered, value, number of suspects, if any, and an assurance from the officers department that the officer will attend the annual IAATI Convention. This is a requirement, as the winner must be present.

The deadline for award nominations is May 1st each year. The nominations are reviewed by a committee of AGC/IAATI members, and the nominating Chapter is notified as soon as a determination is made. Nominations should be emailed to Stu Megaw at .
