Construction Best Information Technology Solutions (BITS) Contest

Open to Contractor and Specialty Contractor members of the Associated General Contractors of America, the Construction Best Information Technology Solutions (BITS) Contest showcases the most innovative uses of technology to solve a particular business problem.

This award is given to the Contractor who demonstrates how the technology solution they've employed has helped their company overcome a hurdle and make them more successful. The BITS competition is held every other year at AGC's annual convention with applications being accepted September through December prior to the convention. The next BITS competition will be held in 2009 at AGC's convention in San Diego.

"The BITS competition is a chance to see the industry's leading technologies. The format is fun, exciting and pressure-packed. Presentations are timed and contestants emerge one team at a time from a soundproof backstage area to take their best shot at impressing a panel. If you have an innovative IT solution, or if you are in the market for one, I highly recommend that you participate."

BIM Showcase

The AGC Electronic Information Systems (EIS) Committee conducts Technology Showcases to help AGC contractors maintain their competitive edge by promoting contractor-to-contractor exchange of information, ideas, and real world experience with information technology. The EIS Building Information Modeling Showcase helped AGC members learn about BIM from fellow contractors who are using and were willing to share their experience with BIM.

The 2008 BIM Showcase was a great success! If you missed it, you can download the presentations from the from the 2008 AGC Convention Presentations Archive.
