Supervisory Training

Bringing STP to You

Several initiatives sponsored by AGC of America help AGC chapters and construction firms launch Supervisory Training Program (STP) courses.

STP Road Show

AGC of America’s STP Road Show is an initiative designed to introduce STP to chapters not yet familiar with the program. The initiative is geared toward chapters that intend to continue to offer training in the future on a regular basis.

One STP course is offered within a two-day format. AGC of America furnishes one trained facilitator who will work with a local facilitator-in-training to co-teach the course. All Participant Manuals are provided for the class and the facilitator-in-training receives a free Instructor’s Guide and Instructor Resource Guide on CD–ROM. Also, the marketing materials for the course are provided and marketing assistance.

The AGC chapter is asked to provide a classroom facility, food for the participants, and a person to co-facilitate. Also, the chapter is asked to handle registration for the event.

The AGC of America facilitator arrives the afternoon before the first day of class to go over the unit material and instructor tips with the local facilitator. During the two days of class, the instructor guides the class through the sessions of the STP unit and demonstrates for the co-facilitator how best to encourage interaction among class members as they discuss supervisory experiences and work together on unit activities. In many cases, the instructors will divide the material and team-teach the course.

STP Turnkey Programs

For AGC chapters interested in hosting one or two STP courses in their area and would like to partner with AGC of America to offer the courses, the STP Turnkey Program is a perfect fit. AGC of America will provide the necessary resources!
