Our Mission

AGC is the leading national construction trade association representing all facets of commercial construction for both public and private entities including building, heavy, highway, and municipal projects. The proud recipients of the National Building Museum's 2008 Honor Award, AGC and its nationwide network of chapters are recognized as the leaders in defining and advocating for the construction industry for nearly a century.

AGC works diligently to advance the industry and improve contractors' day-to-day operability by:

  • Representing contractors' policy agenda on Capitol Hill and within the federal agencies. The association's chief economist is the industry's leading construction economic expert, offering analysis and outlook on the latest industry data.
  • Providing dynamic education offerings including safety training, supervisory training, estimating academies, and a vast array of online courses and audio conferences on the latest industry issues.
  • Working collaboratively with its Chapters nationwide to deliver the best marketing, communications, membership, products, services and resources to meet member needs.
