Pavement Warranties

Several states have been using pavement warranties over the past decade. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) intends to continue to support and encourage the use of pavement warranties and, in particular, to promote the use of long term performance warranties, defined as lasting seven years or more. FHWA has created a workshop to provide guidance to states on the use of warranties. The workshops will assist states in making the decision to use performance warranties and in the development of specifications and associated programs related to the use of pavement warranties.
